Merrell Johnson was previously under contract with Abengoa Solar, Inc. to provide preliminary civil engineering and surveying services. This plant is a 250 megawatt solar electric generating facility on 1,765 acres of privately-owned land in unincorporated San Bernardino County, California, approximate nine miles northwest of Hinkley, California. During the 1990s, Merrell Johnson was involved in the site grading, storm drainage, and surveying work for the existing Solar Electric Generating Stations (SEGS) VIII and IX facilities constructed adjacent to the proposed Mojave Solar Project. In working on this project, Merrell Johnson Companies has added to its knowledge and experience in the solar electric generation economy.
